ISIT AE, focused on designing, implementing and supporting enterprise class solutions to store, structure and secure strategic digital assets, has announced the launch of its information security operations in the Middle East.

ISIT AE provides solutions such as storage consolidation, data classification, information lifecycle management (ILM), storage and server virtualization, capacity optimization, backup and restore, high availability and disaster recovery, database recovery, WAN and application optimization, storage as a service and more. The company also provides a whole range of security solutions including governance, risk & compliance, data leakage prevention, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, network access control, risk register, security information management, and much more.

ISIT AE also offers customers with market leading and comprehensive suite of storage solutions by integrating state of the art technologies from brands like NetApp, Symantec, Brocade, Iron Mountain, Data Domain, Tandberg Data, Solix, VMWare, Texas Memory Systems and Riverbed.

Vaidya continued, “The Middle East has been slightly behind the west in implementing sophisticated security solutions. It is still seen as a technological issue in several companies and not given its due importance. However, the situation is changing fast and industry sectors like the financial industry is now ahead in terms of a better understanding of information security. ISIT is quite adept in the use of information security standards such as ISO 27001 and have a thorough understanding of these standards, which helps position us as a trusted advisor to our customers and to help them overcome these challenges.”

ISIT AE’s data loss prevention (DLP) solutions are gaining importance in the region especially in the current business climate. DLP technology, for instance, can monitor, and sometimes, block employees as they try to send, modify or copy potentially sensitive data. The company also has a range of solutions for remotely backing up data even over low bandwidths using technologies such as de-duplication and encryption. Data on laptops can also be configured to self destruct in case of a theft of the device, hence minimising the risk of data loss.

The Impact of the Carbon Reduction in Data Centres

Due to their high electrical power consumption, data centres in the majority of cases will be affected and it will prove difficult over time to reduce emissions and at the same time sustain expansion and growth. This paper is intended to provide a brief overview of the CRC, how it will affect businesses and how improvements to energy efficiency can be made with changes to the ICT infrastructure.
Next Generation Data Centre ICT Infrastructures

In addition to server consolidation and virtualisation, recent trends towards Service Orientated Architectures (SOAs), Web 2.0 applications and cluster computing are accelerating the implementation of unified network fabrics in order to cope with the higher I/O throughput and greater bandwidth needed to deliver these services.
Energy Savings with 10GBase-T and Energy Efficient Ethernet

Energy Efficient Ethernet is an emerging IEEE802.3az standard due to be ratified in 2010 and focuses on power savings when an Ethernet device is sitting idle.
